*Why would someone reply to a Freecycle post or Craigslist ad and then take for-stinking-ever to get back to you? Seriously people. ASAP means answer me within a day or two or I am going to move on to the next person. You are getting the crap for free for god's sake.
*Why do my kids not acknowledge my existence until a) I am on the phone b) sitting at the computer with headphones on or c) in the shower? Then suddenly they can't live without me.
* Why does the decorating style "Minimalist" cost so much damn money? You want a room filled with fluffy, flowery things? Won't cost a thing! You want a room with sleek lines and contemporary furniture? First born, please.
*Why does every song Lou Bega has made since "Mambo No. 5" sound just like "Mambo No. 5?"
*Why would someone post their budget on a "Get out of debt" message board complaining about how they have no money, but then reject any and all advice to stop over spending on *everything*, eat out all the time and go on vacation?? Don't get me wrong. I am all about spending money. It is one of my favorite things to do. But you won't see me posting my budget and then complaining that people just don't understand that I need to go out to eat three times a week because my life as a stay at home mom is so stressful. Please. If being a stay at home mom is so stressful, you are doing it wrong. Try doing your husband's job for a few days. I have and it sucked. I haven't complained about his dirty socks on the floor, or not washing the dishes since. (At least not where he can hear me.) You want stressful? Find a working homeschooling mom. She does everything that you do and works 40+ hours a week.
Hummm... guess that last one turned into a bit more of a rant that I wanted it to.
* Why in the world would the mother of four, who is well into her 40's, go to the pool with hickeys on her neck for all to see?
Ok... I can't even believe I just typed that word. I haven't even said it since middle school, I'm sure.
Ugh. People ticks me off.
Just sign me-

Back to school
We started back to school today. Not a bad day, just looooong. Alex is finishing up his grammar now (2:30) and the other two are done. We got a late start, so I guess it wasn't that long. It just seemed that way.
Marty said "Does Alex always sit down and dive right in to his school work like that?" Um, no. No he doesn't.

I finally have batteries
So if boring pictures of finally unpacked houses don't appeal to you, shield your eyes. There are a lot of 'em.
The kitchen
Hutch in the kitchen because I have too much junk stuff.
The money shot. Ok, not really. Just a boring picture of the fridge area. The door on the left leads to the laundry room, which leads to the garage. You will have to use your imagination for those. I'm not that bad.
The last shot of the kitchen. I promise.
The dining room. The "pictures" leaning against the wall will be hung just as soon as I can figure out what order to put them in. Any comments? (There are 2 green, 1 red and 1 off white... all on a brown base.)
Shocking! The only mess in the house is in my little corner.
More boys hard at work.
The patio (Christian took this one)
And finally, the shelf I bought for $6.99.

Kitchen crap
I really think I have way too much kitchen stuff. I have so much stuff that I have to store the food in another room. Is that normal?

Wild Turkey
The animal, not the drink. On the way to the grocery store we saw 10-12 of them. Just walking along the road. They really are as ugly as you think.
We have had a bunny and a bunch of chipmunks right outside our back door. The maintenance guy said to watch for deer... they like to hang out next to our patio. We are the end apartment of the cul-de-sac and there is a line of trees next to us.
Tomorrow is Marty's birthday so we went present shopping. After that we went to pick up Christian's bike. $53 later he is out riding with his brothers. Not a bad deal, really. We also went to the Salvation Army and Goodwill looking for a book shelf. I ended up finding a wide 3-shelf metal thing at Goodwill. They used to use it in the store but didn't need it any longer so they sold it for a whopping $6.99. I would post a picture of it but Christian took a bunch of pictures and the batteries are dead. Of course, I can't find the charger.
We are human again! We have library cards!! I'll be honest... so far this library sucks compared to the Mount Clemens library. I really think it is the librarians. Not that the librarians in Midland are bad... they will just never be as good as the ones at Mount Clemens, you know? I have never met people with more knowledge of books, or a better appreciation of the classics. Sigh...
The plan is to start back to school on Monday so that means a library run this weekend. I'll let you know how it goes.

You know it has been a bad week when...
You cheer after finding out that your favorite grocery store does have one in your new town.
Ethan just came by to let me know that he ran into the "Owner Lady" (leasing agent) and "had a chat." He found out that her 15 year old son does some of the yard work here, so he invited them to stop by. Yes, that's right. Invited the leasing agent to stop by my box filled house. Sigh.
We are off to the grocery store, thrift store and bike shop. Christian's bike tire needs fixed and I need book shelves. Should be fun.

We made it!
Other than having the van towed to the service center for no good reason, Marty ripping my new couch and construction on 75 turning a 2 hour trip into a 5 hour trip, moving day was smooth.
We are about 97% unpacked, with a lot of big stuff still in the garage. We are getting rid of some big furniture, so once that it out of there we will be able to organize it a bit better.
Most of the stuff we have is kitchen stuff. I really need to decide what I want to keep and what I can live without. Just too much stuff.
Marty's dad and step mom came up to visit on Sunday. We took them to Marty's restaurant and to see the Tridge.
We went to the Secretary of State today and updated our drivers licenses and got the new tags for the van. (Marty's birthday is Thursday.)
Of course, we have been at the pool every day since we got here. The first thing Ethan says when he wakes up is "When can we go to the pool?" Today he even spelled it, thinking I would be so impressed that we would run right over. I can assure you that I was not that impressed.
We are slowly settling in. Small things like the plug for the dryer not having enough prongs and the trash can for my bathroom being too big are slowly being taken care of. Mind you, I am at Home Depot or Super Wal Mart four times a day. I need book shelves, so will be back again tonight.
The cable guys came this morning, so all is well as far as the boys are concerned.
